Hello there Ms. Judy Blume. How are you? Well, I must say it has been several years since I last picked up one of your books. However, I never forgot you or them. The last one I recall reading was probably one of your most famous: Are "You There God? Its Me Again Margaret." I remember this book all to well. I especially remember reading the scene where Margaret and her friends were having a sleep over. They were all gathered together and began talking about their breast and wanting to wear bras. So then begins the crazy exercise, chant, "We must, we must, we must increase breast!" Hilarious. Then the boys walk past the room down the hall and began mimicking the girls.
This book Ms. Blume, was the very thing that made me more inquisitive about puberty and and a woman's changing body. I as a hound lady at that time had no idea what a "period" was. I went to ask my mom about and she, being old school refused to discuss it at that time. It wasn't until years later well into adult good I can look back and finally make the connection.
Also,s. Blumenthal I want to say thank you for your inspiration and entertainment over the years. I as a child rarely went outside to play whenever I had one of your books in my hand. I was consumed with living in the book and placing myself right there with Margaret. Ms. Blume you wouldn't believe I would become so engrossed in your books I literally couldn't hear my own mother talking to me. To this day she talks about how she I would scream on the top of her lungs to come and do the dishes. However, I couldn't hear her as I was upstairs in my room or somewhere behind a locked door locked reading! It became so bad Ms. Blume, that my mother took me to get my hearing tested because she thought something was seriously wrong! However, the doctor said I was perfectly find and could hear great! To be swept away like that into a world authors create is amazing! I can only hope to write like that someday.

Now that I am studying to become a teacher, I can't stress enough how important it is for children to read and be read to. It's sad how in today's society lots of children aren't ready to or don't enjoy reading. I just think it's because they haven't found the right book for them yet! However, I am so glad I have found the right books for me years ago. Your name and works are at the top of the list.
Thank you Judy Blume so much for taking so much time and energy to ensure that kids like me always had an escape from a boring, humdrum of a childhood.
Glad to see you writing again. Will start reading your books soon. Take care!

I just finished your Summer Sisters and wanted to tell you that I had read a book remarkably similar a few weeks ago. Your book was published first, but Kristin Hannah's Firefly Lane from 2008 has a plot line very close: two girls growing up together, some dysfunctional families, one ends up marrying the other's boyfriend, one travels alot, one dies at the end. There's even a chapter titled Dancing Queen. Nothing prose-wise is lifted, and I know books can have similar plots, but I thought you might want to know. I'm a retired English teacher, and my students always loved your books! Fran

Dear Ms. Blume,
We love your book Superfudge! Our favorite and funniest part was when Fudge said, "M-a-i-n-e spells Maine, F-u-d-g-e spells Fudgie, and P-e-t-e-r spells Pee-tah and B-E-E-R spells Whiskey! We laughed so hard at this part and told our other classmates about it. We a have couple of questions for you. Why did you make Fudgie so rotten? Was there really worms in the worm cookies? How did you come up with this amazing book? Last but not least, How did you come up with what Uncle Feather said? Please email us back. We will be excited to hear from you.

I am currently a college student working on a group project blog over you, Mrs.Blume. I was wondering if we could get a personal message or anything in that sense to put on our blog for our presentation!
On a more personal note I am very fond of your books. As a young teenager I read a couple of your novels and they helped me learn a couple of things.
Thank you so much!

Marian The Librarian

I call myself a 'writer' because I love the process more than anything in my life. I was going through some files today and found a page I had torn out and saved from a W/D's, NEW FAMILY, 6/28/88, page 140, by Bill Wylie. In large red letters it said at the top of the page, "A Conversation with JUDY BLUME . I hadn't read it in years. So many similarities between us. The main one being 3 children so close in age, 27, 22 and 20 (mine at the time). I managed to stop on my second marriage, however. I read that article again today ( 4/23/16) and, again, enjoyed every moment of it. Now I'm writing again, telling the tragic, amazing and triumphant story of my captivating childhood - from devastation to rising above the fray. I have dined with a queen and with some major stars (Liz Taylor) and traveled the world. Now it's time to finish what I started. Just wanted to say 'Thanks' for the new found
inspiration. And, congrats' on your amazing success.
With warm regards, Marian

Dear Judy, I just finished reading, In the Unlikely Event and LOVED IT!!! This book is our book club selection for this coming September. Our library has an adult book group that has met monthly for the last 15 years. I am anxious to discuss this book with the members. As I read the book, I thought of 9/11 and the effects that terror caused to people of all ages. Our family personally lost our 27 year old niece that day. The trauma and 'I remember what I was doing when I heard' will always be in the backs of our minds.
Thank you for sharing this incredible story. I will highly recommend your book to the patrons in our library.
Best of luck in all your writing endeavors.

One of my first memories is being awakened in the middle of the night and my father taking movies of an airplane that crashed into the net apartment building. I chose your book for my turn at book club can't wait to read it. I just found that movie and I'm having it made into a dvd. I thought you might be interested. In the meantime thanks for so many meaningful books.

Good Morning, Mrs. Blume
Today as I was sending an extended text to my husband while he works.. I was typing something with 'just' and somehow Judy popped up. IMMEDIATELY a eureka fell back to your books, me and my bff use to have reading contests on who finished the most! I had to be between 4th and 6th grade. I loved your books now I'm definitely going to read your older titles such as, "Wifey" and "Smart Women" and the most latest as well.
I'm a natural born writer, I just never started writing. There's this one book and title I've had my on my heart for years, I've named chapters and everything but it's not quite ready. And I am I no hurry to rush it, but looking you up this fine morning truly brought me to a special place.
Reading about your cause as far as being honest. Your fight against censorship and the freedom to read is so admirable and I want to follow in your footsteps. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.. you support intellectual freedom.

Thank You so much!
If you have any pointers please Email me.

Warm Regards,
XoxoCharlene

Hi Judy! My names Lucas and I wanted to share with you something; I was only twelve years old when I had heard you wrote adult novels also. The first adult novel I discovered was 'Wifey' When my mom was a little girl, she read alot of your books as a kid. Funny story; My grandmother (who is my mother's mother) bought her the book 'Wifey' in the eighties when my mother was very young because my grandmother didn't bother to see that it said 'An adult novel' on the cover and she just assumed it was a kids book because it was by "a kids author". Curious, I went to my mother and asked her about the book. Note that I was twelve years old at the time and she said "No! You may not read that book." Of course kids are going to break the rules, so I haven't read it yet, but I skimmed through some pages and my first thought was "Wow!" Not a bad wow, but a wow as in "I want to write adult novels like Judy Blume one day." The first adult novel I read by you was titled "Smart Women" and the adult novel I am currently reading now by you is "Summer sisters" and before you wonder, yes I am a boy and I read your adult novels that seem to be for a more lady audience, LOL! I plan on being a writer someday, an aspiring journalist. But I find great inspiration in your books, especially your adult novels and I plan on writing a book one day based on your vision!

Thanks for your time,
Lucas

P.S. Here's a writing suggestion; What do you think happens to Sandy from "Wifey"? What do you think she would be like today in this day and age? I'm sure your adult fans would love to read a book about Sandy returning. Maybe she has kids that go to college. Or maybe she regrets what she did in her past. Or maybe she is still the same today. It's up to you! What do you think? Should Sandy return? I'll leave that up to you!

I look back as my childhood with fondness because of the hours of enjoyment you gave me with your books. One of the reasons I became such an avid reader was because of them. I recently opened a box that I had brought back from Canada when I visited my parents. Inside was all my treasures....on the bottom was your books. The top one was my favorite all bent and worn, my copy of Are you there God ? It's me Margaret. I cried. The book was what started me attending Bible Studies as a teenager now as an adult I teach them to 4th and 5th graders. I even found my copy of Forever that I thought my Mom had thrown out with a note from her saying she was their to listen if I had any questions with a date from 1985 when I was 17. Priceless memories because of your incredible storytelling. Thank you ! Thank you !

I have been an avid reader all my life (starting young with your early books : ) I have never written a book review before, but I just finished In the Unlikely Event and wanted to let you know how much I thoroughly enjoyed it. That must have been such a tough subject for you to write on after all these years. I am glad you got to share your story. I was so captivated by the characters, style, and story that I could not put down your book and finished it in less than 24 hours. So don't listen to the haters if you see any reviews that don't sound right. Bravo and thank you again for another classic. Enjoy life, you have made it so much better for so many of use through the gifts of your talent and your novels.

Dear Judy,

I have been reading your books since I was 8 years old and they have brought me so much joy, companionship and entertainment! My favorite was always Margaret. I must have read her story 40-50 times. She saw me through those years. I still think about her often and, at 51, I wonder what she is thinking now. How does she feel about menopause? Is she still talking to God? Did she ever figure out how she wanted to address spirituality and religion?

Would you ever consider visiting her story again?

Thank you so much for all the wonderful hours of reading!
