Hello Judy,
I was just talking to a friend (a non-reader) about books written for children after they finished with "children's books." We talked about how children's books as well as those for the middle years and YA have expanded so much in the past decade or so.
She said she lost interest in reading because there weren't any books that were relevant to her. I asked if she had read any of your books and she didn't think she had (damn!).
As we talked, I realized how at least two of your books have stayed with me -- "Are you there God? It's me Margaret" and even more so "Tiger Eyes." The kind of books that my mind has flitted to randomly and frequently over the years since I (apparently) grew up.
I wanted to thank you, for writing stories about subjects that were relevant to me and characters that I could empathize with.
It's not a small thing, to write stories, characters or scenes that stay with people for decades.

I read your books growing up. They were an escape and a promise of a bigger world for a girl who didn't fit in. I recently started re - reading your books and was struck by how differently I see them. I'm a grown up now, and a psychologist in private practice. I work primarily with kids who are not neurotypical as well as a fair number of anxious little girls. I now read these through the lens of someone who often hears many variations of the themes you speak to in your books: grief, loss, loneliness, trauma, anxiety, self-doubt AND resilience, competence, bravery, and identity. Thank you so much. The stories you tell are reminders to kids that they are not alone in what they experience.

Dear Mrs. Blume, My name is Adrianne, and liked your book, Tales so a Fourth Grade Nothing. My favorite part in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is the last chapter, poor Dribble! That is my favorite part in the book, because I like it when Mother is trying to tell Peter that Dribble is not in Fudge's tummy, but it is. I really enjoyed your book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing! We read it in our fourth grade class! (Fudge was hilarious!) I really liked the part where Fudge smeared mashed potatoes on the wall! I was also wondering when you will make another book? My favorite thing Fudge said was "Look Pee-tah Fudgie a birdie, Fudgie can fly!" And then he broke his two front teeth! Ouch!

Hi Judy Blume, I got to meet you in 1983 at a book reading on a field trip when I was 8 years old in Jacksonville, Florida.they had you sat on a stoolon this stage and you read to all of us in the audience "Freckle Juice". Well, now I'm 40 and my eight year old niece comes home from school in Arkansas today and says that she went to the library today and checked out a new book, she showed me the book " Freckle Juice" and I literally just cried " I know this book and have read it many times!!!" Thanks so much for your love in writing children's books and the ability for my niece to read them as well in her time.
