When I was a kid, I got into a phase where I didn't want to read books anymore. TV was my thing. This was in the 1970s-1980s. Well, one day my Dad came home with a few books for me to read. I don't know who told him what books to pick out or what but one of them was a Judy Blume book. It took me some convincing but once I started to read, "Are you there God, It's me Margaret," I was hooked! It not only led me to read all of your childrens books but many other books afterward! I have such fond memories of your books and I even read your adult books!! I do hope you write more in the future, you are such a wonderful author! I have read my daughters two of your childrens books so far and they loved it!

You should make new books in like a series. Maybe about teenagers in high school through all four years? But what ever because you are the most amazing writer ever!!!!!!! Xoxo carly

Dear Judy,

I immigrated to Canada with my family at age 7 to a small town. When I was in grade 4, our teacher read Tale of a Fourth Grade Nothing to us. I loved it and went on to reading your other books on my own since then. At that time, my English was still a bit shaky but I loved to read. I remember reading your other books such as Sheila the Great, Iggie's House, Tiger Eyes, But Then Again, Maybe I Won't...and I'm sure a few others. Your books were a big part of my somewhat difficult childhood and I just want to say thank you. I have a dream to write children's novels myself but I still have yet to make that dream come true!

(My elementary school years: 60's and 70's)
My 4th grade teacher read us all of your Peter and Fudge books and I remember laughing and crying hysterically!
Now my 8 year old's teacher is having us read a book, for a book report, from my childhood that I think my child would like. Then she wants us to read it together and do a project of some sort to tell others about the book we read.
I immediately thought of the Fudge series and we read the first one together.
My son thought it was so funny (and sad when Fudge eats Dribble) that he read all of the other books also. So much fun!!
Thanks for the memories!
Maria =)

Mrs. Blume, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I fell in love with reading because of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. A little black 4-eyed nerdy housing project latch-key kid who could have gotten into all kinds of trouble in the 1970s read your book and decided instead to just read everything that you wrote and laugh her head off. I crack up every time I tell someone about how I practiced, "I must, I must, I must increase my bust!" in my bedroom. I remember being unable to wait until the library had gotten a copy of Wifey. I didn't know that it was an adult book. I only knew that YOU had written something else for me to read. When my mom spied me reading it, she asked about me reading an adult book. My response was, "it's not an adult book. It's Judy Blume!" As a new career, I now teach 4th graders. I was shocked to discover that although your Fudge series and other titles are everywhere, my favorite read is not! I have to purchase and donate a copy or three to our library. Stay a Blessing to young readers.

Ms. Blume, I just finished reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing to my 8-year-old son. Your book charmed me all over again, just as it did when I read it as a child, 30 years ago! It's amazing how timeless it is. You captured the perspective of a young boy brilliantly.

As a child, I felt understood reading your work. As an adult, I see that your ability to relate to children is a rare gift. Thanks for your contribution to children's literature!

Dear Judy,
It's me again. I think you should write a book about a cowgirl and cowboy on a ranch who don't know eachother then later, fall in love. I would definitly read that. Where is your hometown? Who is your favorite singer? Mine is Taylor Swift, Tio Cruz, and Adel. What kind of music do you like? Today we had trash clean up day around our school. It was so fun! My class of 16 got 12 semi trucks to honk at us! Our teacher just laughed like crazy. I won a drawing contest for arbor day. I get to plant a plum tree. What is your favorite book that you wrote?
Your curious fan
JC

I want more Fudge books! Here's a new one: Double the Sheila
Story: Sheila, Betsy and Mouse all go back on cooties and they must try and find a way to give up on them. A sequel to "Otherwise Known As Sheila The Great" and includes Sheila's antics (and Fudge's zany antics, as well) from "Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing", Sheila, Mouse and Betsy try to stop being "cootie-ful"!
