Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could respond to each of you personally. Hello Judy, first of all thank God for people like you! I have a 12 year old daughter that is having some trouble reading, her tutor recommended some books and yours is the one she picked. I assume that I can go to the library and check out one of your books but I would rather buy her, her own. Can you tell me when I can purchase "The Tales of a Fouth Grade Nothing"?

Hi Ms.Blume

I'd like to say thank you for writing Forever. I read this book when I was in 5th or 6th grade. It was on the shelf in our school library. At that time no one knew about your books.

Let me say I'm an African American female and I attended and all black school. I don't think my friends or schoolmates knew of your books during that time. I think your books are a good read and are educational.

I learned a lot from just reading as a pre-teen because my Mom didn't really explain the birds and the bees in great detail back in the 70's. I still have my original copy of Forever, it's missing the front and back cover but it's still holding up. :-)

I Love You Judy. I'm 47 now and I stil like reading Forever. Keeping doing what you do.

Thank you Ms. Greco (my favorite teacher 4th grade) for introducing me to Judy Blume and thank you Judy Blume for turning me into a lover of reading. Now, some 36 years later, my 4th grade son is reading his 3rd Judy Blume classic, and one of my favorites, "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". Thanks again Ms. Blume, for having such a profound impact on a 4th grader back in 1976 who credits you with giving him the greatest gift of all, the love of reading.

I have read almost all your books! I love them all. You've helped me through a lot, Judy! I've moved a lot and sometimes I feel like no one understands. But then I read one of your books, I don't feel so alone. After reading most your books, I now want to be a writer. I've actually written 4 short books. I just want you to know that you really inspire me. Keep writing!

Well, I thought it was about time to write to the woman who helped me through a very difficult childhood. I found your books and could not stop reading them. Fudge, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Blubber, etc. The one that meant the most to me was, "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret." It helped me understand a lot of things going on in my life. Now that I have daughters, I have given them your books to continue the tradition. I hope one day to meet you so I can thank you in person. But for now, "Thank you for all that you have written."

Hi Judy

I read all your books when I was growing up, waiting for the library to open every Saturday morning to see if there were any I'd missed! Then when I was feeling nostalgic in my 20s, I bought them all! Even though I'm 43 now, I still re-read them as they remind me of a great time in my life and how much your books meant to me. My lifelong love of reading started from reading your books so thank you! xx

I'm 44 and just started to re-read your books again, and even at this age i love them!! I'm re-reading them for nostalgic reasons and also because I'll be passing them onto my 11 year stepdaughter soon after. I just finished Summer Sisters,(that one was for me, not my 11yr old and now I'm on my all time favorite Are you There God.... It's wonderful to be back in the world of some of my favorite characters, who taught me so much as a young adult and made me feel normal as i laughed through the story. You're a classic Judy, for many more generations to come too! Love you and thanks a million.

Growing up, I really didn't have many friends and Judy Blume books became a huge part of my life. Summers were spent in my room or on a lawn chair in the yard, curled up with one of your many treasures. Thank you Judy, for giving me 'friends' like Margaret, Winnie, Sheila, Peter, and especially Sally.

Dear Judy Blume,
You are one of my absolute favorite authors!!! Ihave read most of your books and I love them all.
The book Tiger Eyes made me cry and laugh. My 5th
grade teacher said that a good story would be able to make someones feelings jump out of them. You really inspired me. I wish I could meet you some day. I think you really know how kids think and your books are outstanding. If I could, I'd give you all the book awards in the world. Thank you for everything!!!

It's very inspiring to me, for I wish to become a published author, and I'm attempting the confidence to go for it. Thank you for sharing your writing tips! I will certainly take the advice of being determined and to never stop trying.

I read "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" in the sixth grade and I've been hooked on reading ever since. Thank you for sharing your craft with the world. It means more than you know.

I am reading Are You There, God? to my 10-year-old daughter. It's the first time for both of us. I was forbidden from reading it a her age because my mother thought it was too racy. I remember how jealous I was that the other girls in my class could read it. It felt like I was barred from a secret, special club. So it is with great delight that I can share it with my daughter, and that it gives us a vehicle to discuss the things that seize the minds of prepubescent girls everywhere: bras, breast size, boys, first periods, fitting in. Thank you so much for writing it.

Hi Judy! I moved to the U.S. from Mexico when I was just 11 years old. "Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing" was the first American Literature book I ever read (without any help at least).
I was so proud to finally be reading English that I continued to read throughout all your Fudge-Collection. Your books taught me that I was very capable of immersing myself in this amazing culture and today I am an English major and aspiring children book writer
Any tips? Thanks so much for your help throughout the years!

I like the Auntie Whoever in Blubber who is an organic food freak. Where did you get the idea for her? That part was so cool. Were there many people in 1974 into organic food? I like how she said she'd been eating organic for six months and never felt better. I didn't know people know about that stuff back then!

Dear Judy,
When I was a kid in the 1980s I wanted to grow up to be Judy Blume. My best friend told me that was ridiculous and that I would never be a writer. She was right, sort of. I turned left at a forked road and became a graphic designer, but I channeled my love of books into a career in publishing. I worked for many years at Chronicle Books and am now the creative director at Storey Publishing. A friend of mine posted something about you on facebook, and with a rush of memories, I was moved to let you know that I wrote my first book, which will release in January 2013. It is a beginner's guide to beekeeping, rather than a novel, but it suits me quite well and I feel that a lifelong goal has been fulfilled. I thank you for being an inspiration.
All best, Alethea
