I am writing, from on my front porch overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline( this in itself is a miracle!) to say THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank YOU!
I am fifty- five years old, and because of your book,”Hey God, it’s me Margaret…” I learned as a child how to talk to God like a best friend.
Twenty years ago, I became a broke single mom when my ex became a paraplegic just months after our divorce. But through talking to God and listening for his answers he lead me on a path that can only be described as miraculous.
But I have to admit, it wasn’t until this week when my 25 year-old daughter who lives in New York finally called me saying she hit rock bottom and was on her knees saying,”mom, do you remember that book you used to read me,’Hey God it’s me Margaret? I finally got on my knees and said,”hey God it’s me, Tarah?”
PRAISE GOD ! I don’t know if you have a faith in God but I do know your story has led to believing and having childlike faith and listening to as I like to call it THE WHISPER WITHIN, which is the name of my blog.
Wherever you are, may you know YOU have made a difference in the world and isn’t that we are supposed to do, use our talents for the greater good?
Your writing made me a curious and contagiously passionate reader at eight.

Just finished In the unlikely event.. oh my goodness I loved it! Thank you. Didn’t realize it was true about the planes crashing! How awful! So glad you were able to tell the story. I’ve enjoyed your other books as well. That was my 59 th book read this year 😊! Sincerely, Joni

I think it’s really incredible that you wrote about all those things back in the 70s, and didn’t back down when people tried to censor you. My mum (b.1958) gave me one of your books to read when I (b.2002) was fourteen, and I really loved it. I think you’re a really important person in feminist history!

I am a Lebanese girl that grew up in Greece, attended an American school, and got lucky that the school librarian introduced me to your books. I am now a picture book author myself, with two published books, and I always say the one author that inspired me in my youth, is Judy Blume. Thank you for the voice you gave young girls and for the beautiful writing style that made it easy for me to dream, that maybe one day I too can write.

Hi! I just finished Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. I loved it-just loved it! Each chapter got funnier and funnier. From the time Fudge tries to fly to when he eats poor Dribble. Thank you for making this book!

My name is Kinzey Schilling and I am a pre-service teacher at Ashland University in Ashland, OH. I am majoring in Primary Grades Education and really enjoy my literature courses and reading. I am placed in a Kindergarten classroom and was in Preschool last year. I am super involved on campus and provide different types of learning and professional development opportunities to other students on campus on several topics including a new one, and literature workshops.
Currently, I am completing a project for my literacy field and course- An Author and Book Study! The goal of this assignment is to learn more about published authors and different published books by them, we will discuss them in a presentation to our class. I chose you to be my researched author! My 4th-grade teacher loved your books and had us read Tales of a Forth Grade Nothing. I loved it!
I have been going through websites and other sources to learn more about you and your work as a writer and I am absolutely blown away by all the work you have published and everything I was able to learn during this presentation and assignment.
I wanted to email though because even though I have learned much about you from different websites, I would like to learn more about you, from you, to add to my presentation. I have loved your books since childhood and found great joy rereading all of them with my own children. I have my first traditionally published picture book coming out next fall and am starting a young reader chapter book.
