Judy says: Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could write back to each of you personally. But in order to start a new book I need serious thinking time, which means less time for e-mail. Hope you understand.
Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and try to respond when appropriate. Your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

Hello! I am a fourth grader and I'd just like to say I love your work so much and the first book I read from you was 'Freckle Juice'. It is very funny and entertaining. Thanks for making me laugh so many times!

Hello Judy
A recent AARP Magazine brought you back to my mind. Your photo reminded me of you at Hamilton and of the three plane crashs, one very near the school. When I was in 6th grade (as Michel Cohen) you were in 9th. You were either in my cousin Richard Cohen’s class or one later. Dr. Sussman’s daughter Who became the famous writer. Wonderful. I’ve spent my life in the theater, MFA Catholic Univ., and as an impresario repping opera singers and pianists. In semi-retirement at almost 82
I’m working in healthcare as a companion for folks in early stages of dementia.
So happy for your success and I’m sending this to my 3 sisters.
God Bless You,
Warmly, Michael Mace

My daughter has dyslexia and it is lovely to see how excited she is about your books and how much she loves reading them. They made a big impact on me too as a child. Thanks so much

You were kind enough to write to my daughter many years ago. She still has your note! Nov. 15th will be the 20th anniversary of I Love To Write Day, a grassroots campaign I launched in 2002 to have people of all ages spend time writing. Hope you can celebrate, and please help spread the word! THANK YOU.
Dear Judy Blume,
I’m Judy B., too, and here’s a funny story about how a cute second grade girl got me mixed up with you. In the 1970s I was teaching second grade, and one of the little girls in my class was a twin. Her sister was in the classroom next door. We teachers always read Judy Blume books aloud to our kids after lunch because they loved them so much.
About twenty years later I was having dinner in a local restaurant, and the waitress asked me, “Aren’t you Mrs. Berke?” I said I was, and then she told me this cute story…. “I’m Heather F.’s twin and I was in the class next door to you when we were in second grade. I was always so jealous that my sister got to have you as a teacher because you were Judy Blume, or so I thought at the time.”
Obviously it had something to do with our names, and I was quite pleased that for this short while, someone thought I was Judy Blume.
For most of my 32 year teaching career I taught 4th grade. One of our core literature books was Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, so I’ve probably read it at least 25 times. Each year I knew when one of Fudge’s shenanigans was about to unfold, and what a joy it was to hear the laughter ring out in my classroom.
You have brought such joy and a love of reading to millions of children, and teachers, too. What a wonderful thing to achieve in a lifetime.
Most sincerely,
Judy Berke

I was so happy that my 9-year-old son loved reading "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" and "Superfudge" as much as I did when I was a kid. It marked the first time he actually wanted to read past his required 20-minutes of reading time, so THANK YOU Judy Blume for creating generations of young readers!
I almost finished reading the Fudge series and only Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is left to read. I LOVE YOUR BOOKS SO MUCH!!!!! And I wanted to ask if you could write another book about Fudge and Peter because for homework I have to do a book report and running out of your Fudge books…but anyway you don’t have to write another one.
Thanks,
Catherine
Thanks,
Catherine
