Judy says: Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could write back to each of you personally. But in order to start a new book I need serious thinking time, which means less time for e-mail. Hope you understand.
Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and try to respond when appropriate. Your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

Dear Judy Blume,
I loved your book Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing. I thought it was hilarious. My favorite part was when Fudge ate Dribble. It was sad but also funny and I liked when he got a dog.
Your new fan,
Bea❤️

Dear Judy Blume,
My class just finished reading your book Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing. I loved it when Fudge threw a fit at the shoe store and wanted the same shoes as Peter. I love the end where they gave Peter a new puppy.

Cynthia from New York, NY wrote on September 8, 2023
Hi, Judy, I hope that you are well. My name is Cynthia, and I work for a small, reproductive rights organization that works to eradicate abortion stigma through the arts. Throughout your own amazing career, your books have said all of the things that were never meant to be said, and then some. And, for that, we are all so grateful for your important words and stories. Our organization has our annual gala coming up, and I thought I may reach out and ask if there may be a way that you can support it (creatively, of course). I would love to tell you more. Thank you for reading this message, and for everything.

Shannon Deeks from Stoney Creek wrote on September 6, 2023
Hello Judy,
My name is Shannon, and I'm 33 years young. My Mom was facing jail time for a DUI that resulted in a police chase and crash in the late 80's. When she was treated at the hospital, she found out she was pregnant with me. I was thriving and healthy. When I was born, a woman named Joan entered my Mother's life and started babysitting me so she could attend AA and weekend jail time. Joan became a grandmother to me. Summers and holidays with her were the best times of my childhood. She introduced me to books and one of the first ones she bought me was a Judy Blume book, Are you there God? It's me, Margaret. Through childhood trauma, and some major trials and tribulations, Judy Blume books got me through. A few years ago, Joan passed away. I had an alarm on my phone to call her because it had been years since I spoke with her. I never fulfilled that phone call. Every day, she prayed for me and over me. All the way until she passed. I have yet to visit her grave site and hope that one day I can stop by and say goodbye properly and leave a Judy Blume book for memory. Thank you for being such a positive influence in my childhood

Dear Ms. Blume,
Your book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is amazing! We loved it! One of our favorite parts is when Peter finds out Fudge ate Dribble! We also loved when Fudge thought he was a bird! We felt happy and rolled our eyes at Fudge's crazy adventures. Our favorite character is Fudge!
Thank you for writing this book!
Sincerely,
Miss Bryant's 4th Graders

Hello,

It sounds cliche to say my mom is your biggest fan, but she definitely is a big fan. They helped her out so much as a child, especially her moving from one place to another, she really identified with Margaret from the book 'Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret'. Do you know if you'll be at any upcoming events? My mom would love to meet you or even see you speak.
It's inspired her to write, and to even start a book club at the library (she works there) for Judy Blume books (which is still a work in progress).
So, do you know if you'll be in any events some time?
Thank you so much!
Anna

Growing up in the late 80s and 90s, you helped me through so many tough times. I was raised southern Baptist in Oklahoma and many of the things I am, just aren’t ok in that world. Im 39 now and I have never written to you until now. This is less about me and more about you and other authors. I live in Virginia now and today I woke up to see another library is being attacked and defunded and there are calls for closure because of books in that library. Having lived here for a few years and having had to endure listening to total strangers tell horrible ‘jokes’ that are just racist, misogynistic, homophobic, I recognize the need for children to have access to works outside the scope of what many ‘religious’ parents deem worthy. The library is called Samuels library in Front Royals Warren County. I have never been to this place, couldn’t tell you where it is, but seeing that it’s set to close October 1st and that your book Forever made the list of reasons why, I knew if ever there was a reason to write to you, this is it. I know it’s such a long shot, but after watching the documentary on you, I saw you and thought oh my goodness, she really is as amazing as I always imagined! I don’t know what you can do other than draw attention to it and maybe people will donate to them to do something to stop the closing of the library. Anything. The amount of confederate flags and anti-anyone that isn’t a white Christian male stickers and shirts and open talk…Virginia children need your books!
Thank you to you or your assistant or both for taking the time to read this, you’re wonderful human beings. Thank you for all that you do. I hope you are all doing well and are safe!
It’s ok if you don’t publish this, I really just wanted to bring attention to the Samuels library closing in hopes that maybe you could use your power for good and people might do something. I believe in the power of Blume!

Hi Judy. I am a 56 year old mom and grandmother who recently retired and decided to revisit your books that I loved so very much as a teenager. I have spent a wonderful summer reading just about every book you ever wrote. It’s so interesting rereading novels that you read as a 12 year old vs a 56 year old. I just wanted to reach out and thank you for drawing me in and creating a life long lover of good books. I appreciate you so much for what you have meant to so many people for so many years. You are such a gift. Thank you for enriching my life in the 70’s through today! I appreciate that more than you can imagine.

Dear Ms Judy,
I will always be thankful for the fact that an author such as yourself gave your gift. I have such fond memories of the "Super Fudge" books. They helped contribute to my love of reading over the years. The 70's and 80's were a special time and as a kid in that era your books helped me. My friends and I enjoyed sharing your stories and I'm looking forward to sharing them with my daughter.
Gratefully yours,
Mark

Judy Bloom, thank you! I am 53, an English teacher, and I have been teaching a Women's Literature course for the last three years (though I have been a teacher for nearly 30 years). I was reacquainted with you and your work, after watching "Judy Bloom Forever". As a young girl, I read all of your books and it is how I fell in love with reading becasue I saw myself and my sisters in those pages.
I have decided to teach, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.Thank you! I cannot wait to begin discussions that were never discussed when I was their age. You are a significant part of women's education.
You and your writing are gifts!
