Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and try to respond when appropriate. Your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

Hello Ms, Blume,
First let me say that I’m a huge fan of yours. Your books kept me strong in elementary and junior high school.
I’m writing to ask permission to do readings of your books for a bedtime story YouTube page? My hope is to get the messages your books have to new generations of kids. As a grandmother myself now, I just feel this so strongly.
Your attention to this is greatly appreciated.

Dear Judy Blume, my children and grandchildren, and I have enjoyed many of your books over the years. And admired you.
But I must respectfully say your TV commercial on banning books is way off base. The books that are banned show and describe sex not necessarily healthy sex that are being shown to very young children. It’s up to parents not school teachers many of which have really cookie ideas to put these kinds of books into children’s libraries. I hope you will take a deeper dive in this issue. The banned books are not for children for sure.
Thank you, Donna

As most 58 yr old Jewish women originally from NJ, I want to say I am one of your biggest fans . My friend , Lori Rosen , not a Jersey girl- just heard you speak at the Steichler center in NYC this past May.
She is turning 60. I would love to surprise her with a short celebratory note from you if possible. She already has a signed collection of your books so I was hoping a note could suffice.
Thank you for “seeing me” during my adolescence and providing great entertainment with your adult books. I believe that because of your ya books, you have helped my generation know that we do not need to be “ wifey”.
Thank
You, Heidi Buhler

Anyway I'm just checking.

Dear Judy Blume:
Thanks for all the wonderful stories that you've written for young people. You put into words their thoughts and fears, worries as well as celebrations. Your characters are fully-formed, making them realistic representations of children today.
I'm sorry that some find you topics threatening and so have organized book bans, pulling your work off shelves.
I wonder what that feels like? To have poured you heart and soul into writing, hoping it reaches your audience, receiving accolades for your work, then suddenly finding yourself a "hated" author. It must be disheartening.
We can hope that as time pass, saner individuals will restore your stories to their rightful spots on shelves. That once again, young people, especially girls, will see themselves reflected in your characters.
thanks for giving the world topics that are timely and meaningful, topics that strike to the heart of our youth.

Hi Judy. My six year old daughter Eleanor and I just started reading your books that I loved so much when I was a kid. We just finished Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and are now listening your audiobook of Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great. Eleanor loves how you read Fudge’s voice and thinks that Sheila should worry less about what people think of her. I mentioned your name in my 8th grade classes recently and the 13 and 14 year olds reacted with overwhelming joy at the memory of reading your books, checking them out from the school library. My own mother recalled reading Are you there God, it’s me Margaret in the early 1970’s when she was a pre-teen. All of this to say that your books and stories have created lasting memories and bonds that resonate throughout generations. I profoundly thank you for giving all of us all these perfectly imperfect characters that have shaped our worldviews and made so many children fall in love with books.

Dear Judy - I’m a huge fan & have loved reading your books since I was a young girl. I could have never imagined in a million years that one day in my 50s, I would ask you to read my debut novel, The Blue Dress, coming out with Macmillan’s imprint FSG in March 2026. It’s about a 13-year-old girl that’s struggling with being an Iranian immigrant, with her body, the complicated relationship with her mom and ultimately with an eating disorder. I know you’re incredibly busy and must get so many requests, but it would be a dream come true and a huge honor if you’d be willing to read my book, and if you liked it, provide a blurb. If so, I or my agent or publisher can send you a copy right away. Thank you so much for even just reading this message. It means the world to me,

All the best,
Rebecca

Thank you for writing Are you there God it’s me Margaret. It inspired me to become an OB:Gyn and I have dedicated the last 28 years of my life to this profession. I also started a youtube channel Meekins Million Miles where I am documenting my journey traveling 1 million miles around the world with my kids. I have a career corner segment where I interview influential people. Hope to meet you one day. Many blessings. ~Dr. Tamara Meekins

Dear Judy,
A big thank you for your writing and for the fun of learning about life as I grew up with your characters by my side. I passed my love of your work to my daughter and we both watched your film at the cinema and again at home. Thank you for everything, Alex

I am sure the movie or tv rights have already been scooped up for Summer Sisters? I would love to see that as a limited series on Netflix ( or I should say a streaming service). That is one of my favorite adult books ever, I've read it so many times. I have taken to coming up with the script for it just as a creative outlet! Let's get it done!

I read your books as a child. You made me want to be a writer, I wrote a lot growing up my mother still has all 23 of my journals I wrote in for hours. I am now 40 and a correctional officer. I just watched the movie Are you there god its me Margaret. I laughed and cried. Growing up sucks makes you realize even more how many things you go through as a young girl. Thank you for making all my childhood memories big and small flood back to me.

Hi Judy, I'm writing a novel about menopause and would like to ask if we can reference Dear God it's me Margaret and can I take it all back? And maybe refer to other characters as this was our coming of age book?

Hi Judy, I watched the documentary about your work. I wanted you to know that when you talked about supporting those trying to do positive work rather than arguing with those who want to be narrow minded, I felt really inspired. I made a resolution to let people who have impacted me know their efforts mattered to me. Since I got that idea from watching the documentary about your writing, I decided you start with you first! So thank you for your positivity and strength. You have definitely made an important difference in my life.
Most sincerely,
Ruth

Hello Judy,
I am back with a fresh new group of grade 4 students. They are excited to read your book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.
The students have said that the book sounds interesting based on the back cover.
When we finish this book, what book would you recommend us to read next?
One student asked, "How long did it take you to write Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing?"
Thank you,
Ms. Kelly Webber and the Students of 4W

Hello Mrs. Blume,
I teach Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Superfudge, and Fudge-A-Mania at an afterschool English academy for elementary school students in Seoul, South Korea. My kids wanted to know why Fudge and Tootsie have baby talk nicknames, but Peter does not! Could you please enlighten us! Much appreciated.
With love and respect,
Mr. Gregory

Hi Judy! Like most women my age (55), I grew up reading and loving your books. I recently read the book, "The Genius of Judy," and was reminded of how much I loved our books. My son is 10 and though we'd read a few of your books in year's past, I decided it was time to jump back in as he heads toward puberty. Together we read "Then Again, Maybe I Won't" and he absolutely loved it. He asked if I would buy him a copy of the book so he could read it again later. When I told him he could write you a note, he was so excited. Thanks for continuing to inspire a love of reading in kids and addressing the topics that are relevant for them. Your impact on popular culture is significant and meaningful to so many!

Hello. I really liked your book, Then Again, Maybe I Won't. I think you could make a sequel like maybe you could make it about him being an adult or the next summer.
